Thank Goodness for #RIXMAS

It’s October and my front door is sporting a jaunty collection of pumpkins. But I spent last night sprinkled with glitter and celebrating Christmas glamour. For every season there’s a pre-season launch, and last night Thomson & Scott Skinny Prosecco was pouring at River Island’s #rixmas event for its Autumn/Winter collection.

I adore Christmas, and couldn’t have been happier among the velvets, jewels, faux furs and chic handbags with gilded straps and brooch-style clasps.

They’re a lot more chic than pumpkins, that’s for sure. The collection includes gloves with oversized, colourful cuffs, electric blue sequinned dresses, and happily the trend for ruffles is still much in evidence.

As River Island says, “I’m cosy enough, said no one ever”, and we fell a little bit in love with a pom pom scarf. Roll on Winter because it looks as though it’s going to go beautifully with Skinny Prosecco!
