We Find Out What Makes Vanessa de Souza Lage's Vin00s.com a Go-To Site for AF Wine Inspo!
Alcohol-Free Wine is having its moment.  Having lagged behind AF beer and spirits for a few years, the category is finally beginning to get its moment in the spotlight with more great bottles being released onto the market all the time.

If you're wondering where to go to get more inspiration about what to try, Vin00s.com is the perfect launchpad to tempt your tastebuds with exciting new labels and good advice.

The powerhouse behind this new platform?  Barcelona-based founder Vanessa de Souza Lage.  We asked her what drives her fast-growing business...

What makes Vin00s tick? What’s your story in a nutshell?
Vin00s exists to spread the word about non-alcoholic wines. I only discovered them about a year ago and it struck me as genius. You mean I can toast, enjoy the ritual, and still keep my reduced-alcohol week intact?

I went on to try a huge range of bottles (including every one of the Noughty wines of course!), and quickly realised how useful it would be to have a place with reviews and a community to tap into for advice. That’s why I created Vin00s.

It may look like an e-commerce site, but in reality it’s a publishing platform built for discovery. We help people figure out what’s good, what’s worth trying, and encourage them to bring alcohol-free wine into everyday life.

What do you think is driving consumers to choose more NA options?
To me it’s a mix of curiosity and necessity. People are drinking less and moderation is not seen as boring anymore, it’s seen as smart. We want to wake up sharp the next day, but we still want the ritual.

Wellness culture has accelerated this shift and non-alcoholic beer really opened the door by normalising the idea. What’s exciting now is that quality has caught up.

Non-alcoholic wine is not a downgrade and that’s why more and more people are making it part of their lifestyle.

What’s your cocktail of choice and why? And where would you like to be seen drinking it?
I’ll make that a mocktail: a non-alcoholic Bellini. It’s simple and festive, made with non-alcoholic sparkling wine and fresh peach purée. Yum! You’d find me drinking it on a terrace in Barcelona at sunset.

The reality is that very few bars here serve non-alcoholic wine, maybe a handful of luxury hotels, and the selection is still limited. So for now it’s more of a wishful-thinking scenario, but one I’d love to see change.

Drinks go better with great food and good company. What’s on your menu and where are you booking your next table?
A grilled fish with vegetables, a fresh salad and a crisp white wine like a Verdejo, Albariño or Chardonnay always makes me happy. Living in Barcelona means I’m spoiled for choice when it comes to seafood. The list is long but my top three spots for that kind of meal are Bar Mut, Lluritu and Molino de Pez.

Any tips on how to enjoy a balanced lifestyle in 2025?
For me it started with doing an IMPACT course for two months. Lots of exercise, strict diet rules and no alcohol at all. I felt so good afterwards that it gave me a new perspective: joy doesn’t have to revolve around excess.

Non-alcoholic wine is now part of my lifestyle. When friends come over for dinner they always get asked “with or without?” and cross my heart the non-alcoholic bottles are the first to be finished!
