Amanda Thomson, CEO and Founder of B Corp Certified Thomson & Scott, was voted one of Business Insider’s Coolest People in Food & Drink 2019. Leading the global shift to alcohol-free drinking, Thomson recently launched game-changing Noughty - the first top quality alcohol-free, organic, vegan, halal, low sugar sparkling.
Amanda is also driving the debate for greater transparency in wine production and labelling and wants consumers to push to know what’s in their bottle.
Raised on a plant-based, no sugar diet by her health-conscious mother, Thomson has always had a keen interest as to what’s in her food.
Formerly an Arts Broadcaster at the BBC, Thomson moved her young family to Paris and studied for her Diploma in Wine at the renowned Le Cordon Bleu School where she was Entrepreneur of the Year 2017 and an EY Winning Woman. Thomson is also a Department of International Trade Export Champion.
Thomson & Scott now sells to the world’s coolest bars, restaurants, hotels and spas in key territories including Australia, Europe and North America.
As though alcohol never existed
Consumers are drinking less alcohol and are looking for delicious lower sugar organic options without compromising on flavour or style.
The global non-alcoholic market is anticipated to reach an estimated $1.6 trillion by 2025 as the sales of non-alcoholic drinks continue to boom.
Only 100% organic grapes
We pride ourselves on using only the best grapes for our Noughty bottles. Our organic grapes are grown with minimal intervention in the harvesting and production process.
No animal by-products
We never use any animal by-products in the filtration process, meaning that all our bottles are vegan friendly. Even if you’re not vegan, you can rest assured that there are no crustaceans, egg or fish used at any point during production.
Cut unnecessary sugar – you’re sweet enough
We avoid adding unnecessary sugar to the production process. This means that if you are conscious of your sugar intake, we are able to give you chapter and verse on exactly how much sugar each one of our low-sugar bottles contains.
Considering culture and beliefs
Offering halal certified products allows Muslim consumers to be confident that the products they use are in alignment with their culture and beliefs. We are proud to be certified and mark this on all of our bottles.
Profit with purpose
We are B Corp certified because we believe in the importance of sustainability – making sure that from the moment our grapes leave the vineyards, every step is as environmentally conscious as possible. We believe in profit with purpose and are proud to be one of a handful of companies worldwide that has been granted B Corp status.
Truth and Transparency
Consumers need to know what they are consuming. As a company, Thomson & Scott is leading the way in demanding that the wine industry becomes more transparent about both its labelling and what goes into the bottle.
