NOUGHTY WINS USA TODAY READERS’ CHOICE AWARD FOR BEST NON-ALCOHOLIC WINE AWARD 2023
NOUGHTY, the leading non-alcoholic wine brand created by British entrepreneur Amanda Thomson of Thomson & Scott has won USA TODAY Readers’ Choice Award for Best Non-Alcoholic Wine 2023. The award was voted for by the American public from a short list of 20 wine brands chosen by the national publication.
The winning wine, NOUGHTY Sparkling Chardonnay, was described by the expert wine website jancisrobinson.com as “hands down, the best alcohol-free sparkling wine I have ever tasted, and one of the best alcohol-free wines I've tasted overall.”
It was the first bottle to be launched by the British company in 2019 and quickly garnered praise from critics and wine lovers in the UK, the US and Canada. Since then, the Thomson & Scott’s NOUGHTY wine portfolio has grown quickly to become one of the leading independent non-alcoholic choices in the international drinks industry. It now sells in more than 40 countries.
NOUGHTY Sparkling Chardonnay is produced from organically grapes grown and harvested in La Mancha, southern Spain. The wine is produced and expertly dealcoholized in Germany. It contains fewer than 14 calories per 100ml and half the sugar content of other alcohol-free sparkling wines at 2.9g per 100ml. It is also halal and vegan friendly.
“Winning this award consolidates our position in the US as the go-to alternative to alcoholic Champagne and sparkling wine,” says NOUGHTY’s creator, Founder & CEO of Thomson & Scott Amanda Thomson. “Consumers are increasingly looking to switch out alcohol for great-tasting alternatives without stepping away from the joy of drinking delicious wine. NOUGHTY is their answer.”
The company recently launched the latest addition to its portfolio – NOUGHTY Rosé – a Provence-style pale rosé still wine that sits alongside the existing bottles – NOUGHTY Sparkling Rosé, NOUGHTY Rouge still red wine, and NOUGHTY Blanc, the company’s still white wine. The alcohol-free sparkling wines are 0.0% ABV and the dealcoholized still wines are <0.5% ABV. Whilst the sparkling wines are produced in Germany, NOUGHTY still wines are grown, harvested and produced for Thomson & Scott in Darling, South Africa.
